Supporting Coaches for Rugby Portobello Football Academy

The Rory and Elizabeth Brooks Foundation has continued its long-term commitment to Rugby Portobello Trust in 2022 with a donation that will fund two coaches to work with the charity’s long-established and thriving football club.  Rugby Portobello Football Academy (RPT FC) has been running in its current form since 2008, now supporting up to 120 children each year. Based in North Kensington, RPT FC works with children as young as 4 years old, giving many of them their first taste of organised sport and laying the foundations for a lifetime of healthy living, teamwork and a sense of community.

RPT FC continues to grow, both in size and in ambition. They undertook their first international tour to The Netherlands in 2018, followed by a tour to France in 2019, with their first post-pandemic multi-day trip planned for 2022. These experiences have allowed the players to build their skills and confidence, as well as an appreciation for other cultures.

While still a grassroots club, RPT FC is respected across London. Fifteen of their players have trained with or been signed to professional clubs, giving local children a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pursue their dreams.
